I use abcde, which is a script based front end to a
few other programs which include cdparanoia and lame
or vorbis, and I'm not sure what else (never checked).
It even tags the mp3 or ogg files. My problem is it
never seems to want to connect to the cd id servers so
I have to manually tag the songs (which the script
gives you the opportunity to do).
