You did something wrong: if you use 'mount -t msdos', it won't use
mount_ffs at all, but mount_msdos (mount is just a wrapper which
call /sbin/mount_xxx, based on the xxx argument passed to -t).

Alternatively you can try
mount_msdos /dev/sd0d /mnt/ls120
this should have the same effect
