Hello,
I have been tring to find some documentation on how to make it
running. I found a lot of information on it for Linux on WWW, but not a
word (except package changes) for NetBSD. Unfortunately, the information
for Linux was worthless - the step-by-step instructions for Red Hat just
didn't work at all.
This takes me to a broader problem: I have been playing with NetBSD
for about a month infrequently, but I found out that getting a
documentation for source packages is quite a painfull task. The packages
rarely install manpages. I would be happy if they installed at least
some longer READMEs than "The NetBSD Packages Collection ". When I try
Google, all I get on NetBSD sites is "package changes" or "brief
description" in Japanese. The webpages of the original product usually
don't mention specifics of the NetBSD port at all, so I would expect
that package maintainers could write something for "the rest of us". Let
me note that I appreciate the effort, but I have been fighting for three
days with PAM/LDAP and I feel quite frustrated. My previous experience
is Ultrix, Tru64 and Linux. While Linux nation has only one dilemma
"which documentation to read first", BSD people are not really into
writing... :-(
