My networking woes are described here...
http://mail-index.netbsd.org/netbsd-users/2002/05/15/0009.html

Basically I have a Realtek 8139 ethernet on-board (not PCMCIA) that gives me
watchdog timeouts. I can't do anything on it. People have said that I should
either upgrade to -current, or try manually setting the media type.

I'm going to try setting the media type while I wait for responses. If that
does not work, I'll try the GENERIC_LAPTOP solution (Any links on how to do
that?). The bootstrap -current looks like another interesting experiment,
too. Thanks.

That's your problem. You're trying to build a current kernel with a
1.5 toolchain. Lots of stuff will be out of date. The immediate
problem you're having is caused by config(8) changes but you'll end up
with a series of other ones.

I suggest that you bootstrap a new system by using build.sh and a full
set of -current sources -- the instructions in /usr/src/BUILDING in
-current will help you. The process is completely automated and
reasonably painless if done correctly.

What's the networking issue? You running GENERIC or GENERIC_LAPTOP?
