   I had the same problem once.  The only thing that helped me was to
nuke my office52 directory and restore it from an older backup.  The
same thing happened again once or twice later on.  That's why I now
create an offcie52.bak directory every now and then.

   BTW, you might want to try the new (native) OpenOffice package ...
