It is trivial. You're just marking up stuff to tell the system stuff
like "this is a cross reference", etc.

SGML really is no easier than mdoc in any obvious way.

Just try starting out with a sample man page and hack. It is very simple.

It comes with groff these days, so all the open source unixes have it.
