well, I have been messing with this every which way I know how. I think I
see a problem with the qt make process where it tries to work with shared
libs but hasn't built any (the config script calls for static). So a pkg
would be a good thing to have.

if anyone is running KDE could you post the output of <some kde app> -v

and if anyone knows why this happens, I'd love to hear it. Is 3.4.2 equal to
or greater than 3.4.1 or not? Why are we looking for a specific version to
match?
