I'm not 100% database savvy, but I've set up
PostgreSQL on a NetBSD box with network connectivity
(which it doesn't allow by default). I believe as long
as you can make standard SQL calls, then it should
work. There's all kinds of authentication options...
The users on this one used ODBC from Grimdows which
also works just fine. I don't see why this wouldn't
work... Plus, BSD license! Much better.
