I couldn't puzzle this out from the PostgreSQL FAQ. Folks on this list had
definite opinions before, so...

So...you folks that formerly wanted to steer me from MySQL toward PostgreSQL,
answer me this please. If I put a PostgreSQL server on a one-and-only NetBSD
box, can I access it from Perl DBI on Win32 boxes over the LAN?

I know I can get a client on Win32 for MySQL without the hassle of a full
CYGWIN install. So that is the ballance point of this inquiry.

BACKGROUND:

For work I might (like in MAYBE) be able to set up a NetBSD box on the
company intranet as a server. But no way can I get OTHER folks to put CYGWIN
on any of THEIR machines on account if it having to be compiled, etc. But I
could sell them on installing ActiveState Perl. That is easy, no fuss or
muss. And I can write scripts for Perl.

Thanks,

Gan
