BTW, the quick fix I settled on was to rip all the stuff out of the
nvi-euc-jp script and append it to the other configuration items in
my ~/.nexrc.  Unfortuantely, I find that /usr/bin/vi also reads ~/.nexrc,
not just ~/.exrc, so it really is just a temporary work around.
