Ok, thanks (and Martin). I added "192.168.0.3 kees" to /etc/hosts.
"kees.mydomain.com" doesn't exist, so this prevents it from being resolved
(well, attempted to be) on the nameservers in /etc/resolv.conf. Both telnet
and FTP work perfectly again and I hope this is the right solution.
I think that my ISP changed something on their DNS servers so that this
problem suddenly arose.
