This is the PIIX4. Really, this controller is well supported in NetBSD,
and is present in a lot of i386-based machines (so the code is well-tested).

Maybe there was a different version of this controller for laptops, but
they didn't change the vendor/device ID ?
Some vendors do this, but Intel is usually rigth for this.
