Hello!
Thanks to the VIA-Chip improuvements in NetBSD-1.5.1_BETA2 it runs
very nice now on my EPOX KTA2 mainboard. Before it was horrible slow,
but now it is very fast.
I have a problem with my nic, a Netgear FA311. The card, my switch
and my cables are ok, because this card works in FreeBSD 4.3 STABLE,
that is also installed on this computer.=20
I can't ping any computer in my LAN.
Here are a few lines of my dmesg output:
> sip0 at pci0 dev 10 function 0: NatSemi DP83815 10/100 Ethernet
> sip0: interrupting at irq 10
> sip0: Ethernet address 00:02:e3:02:d7:22
> ukphy0 at sip0 phy 0: Generic IEEE 802.3u media interface
> ukphy0: OUI 0x080017, model 0x0002, rev. 1
> ukphy0: 10baseT, 10baseT-FDX, 100baseTX, 100baseTX-FDX, auto
Here is the ifconfig output:
> sip0: flags=3D8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
> address: 00:02:e3:02:d7:22
> media: Ethernet autoselect (100baseTX full-duplex)
> status: active
> inet 192.168.1.50 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.1.255=20
Here is the ping output:
> /sbin/ping 192.168.1.3
> PING freebsd.rocks (192.168.1.3): 56 data bytes
> ping: sendto: Host is down
> /sbin/ping 192.168.1.1
> ^C
When I put in a Realtek card, everything is working. (/etc/ifconfig.rtk0
is a copy of ifconfig.sip0)
I tried to change the media options with ifconfig, but no luck.
Any ideas what's wrong?
Best Regards,
Herbert=20
