ISC dhcpd apparently doesn't have quite enough error checking on the
code that reads from the network interface. Could you file a PR about
that?
What's probably happening here is that something is happening to your
hme1 interface -- or possibly to dhcpd -- which makes dhcpd unable to
read from the interface. Then it continues to try, and every time it
fails, it logs a failure message. If you could find the logs from
just before the above messages started, you might be able to shed some
light on the original cause of the problem.
