Ah, that last clue was the most helpful! Using the "u" for units
command, I can now see the sectors. Here's the now-working label:

  g: 48132 28804608 Linux Ext2 0 0 # (Cyl. 28576 - 28623*)
  h: 10859876 29125908 Linux Ext2 0 0 # (Cyl. 28894*- 39668*)

where g: is for the Linux "boot" and h: is for "/dev/hdb7". Great!

netman2# mount
/dev/wd0a on / type ffs (local)
/dev/wd0e on /usr type ffs (local)
/dev/wd1h on /mnt type ext2fs (local)
/dev/wd1g on /mnt2 type ext2fs (local)

netman2# file /mnt2/vm*
/mnt2/vmlinuz: x86 boot sector
/mnt2/vmlinuz.config-eide: ASCII English text
/mnt2/vmlinuz.suse: x86 boot sector

netman2# file /mnt/bin/rpm
/mnt/bin/rpm: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1, statically linked, not stripped

Now, on to setting up /emul...

netman2# /mnt/bin/rpm
Unable to open /usr/lib/rpm/rpmrc for reading: No such file or directory.
