I'm trying to figure out how to untangle audio output. I get sound, but
can't restrict it to just one of the ports (speaker, headphone, or line
out); it comes out everywhere. the output of audioctl -a looks like this:

...
play.port=0x0
play.avail_ports=0x0
...

Any attempt to change these either results in an error or is ignored. Is
this how it's supposed to look? Am I doing something else wrong?

I'm running 1.5 on a SparcStation 5, no extra audio equipment in sight.
