Hi,

Please excuse the generic nature of this question. I hope that one of you
can help me.

I am helping a scientist migrate from VMS to Solaris/SPARC. He writes in
Fortran and is most familiar with the old Lahey compiler for DOS and the
DOS editor. He would prefer to use a similar editor on the Solaris system.

I have checked out the packages and found jed and joe (ne does not seem
simple enough). I have also spend a lot of time with Altavista and found
nothing appropriate (on a side note, Jext may be worth a closer look for
other uses).

He will be 'playing' with Pico and the two I just found. All he wants is
the old DOS editor.

Thanks.
