We have a pair of Pentium III 850Mhz servers we manage for a customer
using IBM SCSI disks. When they are ready we will load-balance them with
hardware based load-balancers.

The old server this pair replaced, was holding its own on slower IDE disks
supporting 1,000 concurrent connections. Uptime is measured in months,
when tuned correctly. We did increase some kernal options to handle the
load.
