I've just tried to install the 'sane' package. It installed gimp
version 1.0.4 and checked for other installed packages, then started
in on sane. It began compiling xscanimage, and then hit the following
snag:

Has anyone else hit this snag? Do you know a way around it? Does
everyone have these same problems installing packages or is it just
me?

Thanks for any help.
