Shouldn't your /etc/hosts file contain "192.168.123.7 sol" instead of
"sol 192.168.123.7"? Also, are you running NIS, and if so, is your NIS
hosts map in sync with /etc/hosts? What about /etc/resolv.conf? Are you
trying to get information from a DNS server instead of /etc/hosts or NIS?
