Just to wrap up this call, I'd like to state that for anyone else having a
similar problem (the problem was with the video card after all) all you
need to do is upgrade your X to 3.3.3 or newer, where the Xpert@play 98 is
actually supported..  Thanks for the help though, Matt :)
