Apologies as this is not netbsd specific, but I'm guessing that at least a
couple fellow netbsd'ers have already figured this one out and could give me
a quick pointer.
I'm using ssh from a secure machine (also behind a company firewall) to login
at this account (toddpw@best.com) which is out on the open net -- BEST is a
commercial ISP. This works OK but always prompts me for a remote user account
password.
Tonight I used ssh-keygen to make a key pair, and put the public key in my
best.com account as per the man pages. Now it insists that I type in my
passphrase all the time.
What I really want is a pass{word,phrase}-free method that I can use from
scripts, so I tried "ssh -o BatchMode=yes" but that complained that the
passphrase was incorrect. I don't see an option to specify a passphrase
on the command line.
I just want to control my www/ftp space at BEST from my secure machines but
without typing passwords all the time. Is this possible with SSH or am I
not supposed to want to do this?
