I know I have bad sectors on my IDE disk. How do I go about finding
them, and how do I avoid them?
I looked at the man pages for badsect(8) and bad144(8), and they seem
to be what I want, but they still require that I identify the
offending sectors in the first place.
Incidentally, do IDE disks support the bad-block-forwarding scheme
described in the bad144(8) manpage? Or do I have to use badsect?
