Halt the system
Plug the drive in
at the "ok" prompt, check if the drive's recognized: probe-scsi
boot
check dmesg output that the drive's recognized
Write a disklabel including the partitions using disklabel
	(if the disk doesn't have a disklabel yet, you'll probably
	 do something like:
	  disklabel sd1 >foo
	  vi foo # if you know what to do
	  disklabel -r -R sd1 foo
	  disklabel -i foo # if you have a fairly -current disklabel and
			     # don't know exactly what do do in vi above
	)
newfs the filesystems created with disklabel
put the filesystems into /etc/fstab
fsck them: fsck -p
mount them: mount -va
