  Indeed, the aforementioned RS6000s on the ANS backbone ran gated.  When we had
ours at Digex, it was bgp peering with a Sparc2 running NetBSD/sparc, around
version 1.0...Ed Kern at Digex is a bgp god; had it running quite nicely with
like 30k routes in the routing table.  Typing "netstat -r" was fun!
