Can we see the contents of /etc/ifconfig.sn0? Pretty please? :-)

If it references an entry in /etc/hosts (i.e., to ifconfig the card by
hostname rather than by IP number), that file would be helpful too.

In what directory did you place the adduser script? If it's not in your
PATH, you'll have to call the script with its full path -- or set the
PATH environment variable to include the directory containing the
script.

While you're diddling the PATH environment variable, also check the
value of MANPATH. (The method of setting environment variables depends
on your shell.)
