Unix is a big topic. I'd suggets you pick a beginners guide to Unix.
There are two books writen by summervile (I think) for one for SVR5
and BSD borrow or buy the latter. It will teach you a lot of the
command and basic commands the man pages will give you more details
which will helps where commands have chanegd. It will also help you
through using the vi editor. Its not an easy tool to use but its worth
learning the basics as its usally installed on all versions of unix.

One you can get buy with vi have a look at other editors you may find
one that you preffer.

Most of the file commands are similar to dos they are uslly more
poweful and don't tend to ask questions, if you type rm * it will
remove all you files and won't ask if you are sure !

You can customise commands as well using the alias feature of some
shells such as csh. Again it is best you get some tutuorial material
first rather than reference material.
