I recently picked up an APC Network PowerCell, which from what I can
make out is a rather old 600VA SPS. It has a monitoring port on the
back of it, but the documentation pinouts seem odd to me, I'm not sure
if this thing can be hooked up to a serial port even with an adapter.

Is anybody using one of these UPSes? Would you happen to know what
pin gets mapped to where in the adapter cable? Can you recommend a
simple unix daemon (that works with NetBSD, obviously) that could shut
down a machine when the UPS signals the power fail line?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

                                                          Will Ferry
