I reported that I was getting:
  bind: Address already in use
  httpd: could not bind to port 80
when I tried to start Apache on my NetBSD box.

I have received multiple responses of the form:
>   You haven't killed a previously running httpd.

This is the first time that I have tried to run a web server on this box. 
I have also
tried different port numbers and got the same result.
