You need to get the xpm library stuff which is an add in, compile that
up and install it and then you can compile the other window managers.
Alternatively, a lot of window managers have the xpm stuff as an
optional extra, they will work fine without it, have a look at the
Imakefile/README to see if you can compile without xpm support.  All
xpm really gives you is pretty multicolor pix maps....
