NetBSD-current has a fully-integrated YP server package. If you install
1.2.1 (1.2 + patchlevel 1) on your system, you should be able to get
the src/usr.sbin/ypserv directory from NetBSD-current and build/use
it (there was a bug in the 1.2 C library that caused some ypserv operations
to SEGV).
Alternatively, you can install NetBSD-current on your hp300 ... That
may not be a bad idea; there have been a lot of bugs in the hp300
code fixed since 1.2 (says he who's fixed most of them :-)
