I've never had this happen to me, and I've been using PPP for a
while.  Use pppd's -d flag to see some more of what's going on; you'll
probably need to edit syslog.conf to send daemon.debug somewhere
rational.  You may also want to try using ktrace(1) to find the
offending write.

If you want to examine the source, look for something in the ppp
pseudo-device driver which returns ENOSPC on a write.

In the long run, you best bet is to upgrade to 1.2.
