Hello, all.

I'm running NetBSD 1.2 i386 now, having upgraded from 1.1. I have a USR
Sportster 14400 modem and used to dial out using tip in 1.1.

When I upgraded, however, something strange started to happen when I try
to use tip: everything seems to hang and even ~+^D will leave tip but
will also scramble my terminal so badly that I'd have to start another
session in another terminal to kill the shell and restore normal behavior.

Kermit works just fine over the same tty to which the modem is connected
(tty03), and pppd also works well. Hylafax, however, gives me messages
saying that something is hung with my modem.

What can this be? When I upgraded I did not change anything in ttys.

Thanks for any info.
