NetBSD does have a DEC FDDI driver for turbochannel, for the DEFTA.
You might try adding:

[ alpha ]
fta*	at	tc? slot ? offset ?

[ decstation ]
fta*	at	tc?

to your kernel config, and seeing if it works.

(Hmm, I guess the pmax port turbochannel code needs some work?)
