Maybe you'll need only a filter to have your LF expanded to CR/LF to
print text documents (I needed that for my Deskjet).  You may, however,
set your printer to do it automatically.

Here I set up one configuration to print text files and another to
print graphics, the first uses the LF->CR/LF filter and the second
doesn't.  If you set your printer to automatically expand LF, check
if your graphics still print OK.  If they do, that's possibly a better
approach.
