Apparently the bundled version of gcc/g++ is significantly deficient in 
certain respects and I had to resort to installing v2.7.2 from mit.  The 
compilers were straightforward.  What I have to have (and can't get to 
compile) is the glibc.  I'm sure others have tried this and succeeded.  
Or does anyone have a libstc++.a for Intel?
