Hi

I just installed an AST 4 port card and at last I can connect my
printer...

Woops, not so easy as I thought. I picked around /etc/printcap and
that is surely my problem - I just don't know what to put in...

I have an old Seikosha 136 column printer I used for my code drafts and I
can talk to it using kermit at 9600,noparity,1stop - what I type prints
ok.

But when I lpr a file I get about page of junk.

My current printcap looks like this:

lp|local line printer:\
  :lp=/dev/tty01:br=9600:fs=7:fc=5:sd=/var/spool/lpd:lf=/var/log/lpd-errs:

I tried the fs and fc options, but nothing improved/or got worse :-)

Can anyone mail me a proper /etc/printcap file I can use as a base to get
going?

et
