May I suggest you get hold of the latest Taylor UUCP - V1.05.  The one 
included in the NetBSD1.0 (release) is older.  

The complete distribution of V1.05 contains helpful documentations.  The
O'Reilly book is a good intro but you need the documentation to set things
up.
