Hi!

I don't exactly know what you mean by "4.4BSD daemon book", but I only know
the 4.4 BSD manuals (5 books) by O'Reilly & Associates. Look them up at
"http://gnn.digital.com/gnn/bus/ora/". You have to choose which of them you
need for your purposes. 
There also used to be a book "Unix in a Nutshell: Berkeley edition", but
unfortunatedly this doesn't seem to be available any more. Or maybe they're
just preparing a newer version.
If you don't mean any of these, I would also be interested in the book you
mean, because I'm still looking for books about BSD.
