O'Reilly and Associates have several books that you might find useful.
The titles are "Managing UUCP and Usenet" and "Using UUCP and Usenet".

Although the editions I've seen don't cover the Taylor UUCP subsystem
used by NetBSD, Taylor UUCP can read V7 and HDB UUCP config files
which they discuss in some detail.  I'd suggest using HDB UUCP 
config files.
