dear sirs,

i'm sorry if this is an faq, but the man pages for slattach, sliplogin,
and ifconfig didn't really explain this well, and what i tried didn't
work, so i'm asking it here.

how do you properly turn off compression for SLIP? i'm trying to use TIA
(the internet adaptor) to run netscape on my university account, and i
can't get it to connect correctly. one of the fixes that TIA listed was
to turn off compression for the SLIP software. how do i do this?

thanks for any help on this.

sincerely,
