 I'm not sure, but this might be a duplicate of
 https://gnats.netbsd.org/58366 .  Can you try building a kernel and
 linking it with higher --split-by-file values and/or omitting
 --split-by-file entirely (like suggested later in that PR)?  Just so
 we figure out if this is a duplicate or a separate issue.
