I will look into this.  The purpose seems reasonable.

The patch itself won't work for me, using a magic number for
the count value to save a variable is silly - and if simply
leaving it as 0 won't work for some reason (I am yet to look),
then an extra bool-style variable will be cleaner.

But thanks for the ATF test addition, that should work almost
as is (I will change the new test name from counttzero to
zerocount for absurd ATF reasons (tests are run in lexical
order of thei names) but the rest should be OK.
