 OK, I have 1.132.2.3 in my -9 version of sh and the extra pullup
 should have made no difference to that issue (though it is related,
 quite a lot of fixes have related to this general problem).
 
 I see the same thing you do on -9, but not in HEAD, so I believe
 that it is fixed, by some other change, that didn't get pulled up.
 I will see if I can work out what that was.
