 First, booting into Arch Linux appears to confirm there is indeed a
 hardware issue:

 <ftp://ftp.causeuse.org/pub/NetBSD/kern-58775/archlinux-pcie.journal.gz>

 The two nvme ssd drives in question are front mounted, connected via a
 backplane. Results from swapping disks and pulling one at a time have
 been somewhat inconsistent, but pointing in the general direction of
 connectors and cabling - the cable is too long, and has two rather sharp
 180 degree bends.

 The machine is under warranty, I'll take the issue up with the vendor.

 I guess the PR can be closed?

 Cheerio,
 Hauke
