Yes, I think all these changes should be good to pull up to 10 (and
even 9).

Looks like the following architectures still need the fix:

- hppa
- ia64
- mips
- sh3
- sparc and sparc64

...but getting the changes for x86 and arm pulled up doesn't need to
wait for them.
