NetBSD 10.0_RC6 NetBSD 10.0_RC6 (GENERIC) #0: Tue Mar 12 10:19:02 UTC 2024 mkrepro%mkrepro.NetBSD.org@localhost:/usr/src/sys/arch/amd64/compile/GENERIC amd64
>Description:
On a QEMU/KVM virtual machine I proceeded to install NetBSD-10.0_RC6-amd64.iso image.
The partitioning tool of the installer will fail with a segfault if user tries to encrypt a partition.
If user selects encrypt the whole drive, it works as expected.
>How-To-Repeat:
1. Boot the installation image.
2. Select "Install NetBSD to hard Disk > Extended partitioning"
3. Create two partitions on virtual drive (GPT, MBR or disklabel)
4. Select one of the partitions. And then "Encrypt (CGD)" on the partition.
It will show a segfault like this: https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/@release_candidate/112128737628556050
>Fix:
I'm totally newbie in NetBSD, but I believe the installer is trying to get partitions of the selected partition.
