 I have AMD Ryzen 5 2600 along with Radeon RX580 (Polaris).
 Installers based on 10.0 RC4 and -current work for me just fine, and the reporter's issue can not be reproduced.
 
 Additionally, amdgpu is currently NOT enabled by default in the kernels mentioned, therefore it can not possibly be the reason for a freeze during the boot.
