>Environment:
NetBSD 10.99.10 (APACHE) #1: Fri Oct 13 06:52:46 CEST 2023

Machine: evbarm
>Description:
After upgrading my -current aarch64 machine (nanopi m4v2) to
actual kernel and userland the old (and newly compiled)
pkgsrc/mail/dovecot2 fails:
master: Dovecot v2.3.21 (47349e2482) starting up for imap, pop3, lmtp
log(1389): Panic: kevent(EV_ADD, READ, 6) failed: Invalid argument
master: Error: service(log): child 1389 killed with signal 6 (core not dumped - https://dovecot.org/bugreport.html#coredumps - set service log { drop_priv_before_exec=yes })
master: Error: service(log): command startup failed, throttling for 2.000 secs
master: Error: service(config): command startup failed, throttling for 2.000 secs

master: Error: service(stats): command startup failed, throttling for 2.000 secs
master: Error: service(config): command startup failed, throttling for 8.000 secs
master: Error: service(pop3-login): command startup failed, throttling for 2.000 secs
...
>How-To-Repeat:
Try to run pkgsrc/mail/dovecot2 on an actual souce based
aarch64 evbarm machine and see it fail.
>Fix:
Reverting to a kernel based on sources (before):
NetBSD cochise 10.99.10 NetBSD 10.99.10 (APACHE) #1: Fri Oct 13 06:52:46 CEST 2023
runs dovecot2 fine.
