i tried implmenting this for sparc64 yesterday.  it didn't help,
for either the blk or network PRs you filed.

the netbsd-10 version is a hack since there's no way to pass the
relevant feature bit in our virtio APIs there (uint32_t has been
widened to uint64_t in -current.)
